| Release date: November 28, 2008 Despite Zucchero's frequent, and well received, tours throughout the world in the past three decades, surprisingly little live material has seen the light of day. 1991's "Live at the Kremlin" and 2004's "ZU & Co live at the Royal Albert Hall" remained the only full live releases up to date, and neither represented a "real" Zucchero show, without fancy guests. LIVE IN ITALY is here to set this wrong right. With 2 cds and 2 dvds chuck full of Zucchero hits and rarities (39 different songs in total) recorded during three concerts in the Arena of Verona in 2007 and during a one-off show in San Siro Stadium in Milan in 2008, this collection should satisfy all who had the joy of seeing Zucchero perform during the FLY and ALL THE BEST tours of the past two years, as well as all of those who had to miss out. On LIVE IN ITALY, Zucchero is backed by the stellar band that performed with him throughout the entire world during the FLY and ALL THE BEST tours the past two years. David Sancious (keyboards), Polo Jones (bass), Kat Dyson (guitars, vocals), Mario Schiliro (guitars), and Adriano Molinari (drums), are joined by Sarah Grimaldi (vocals), and a horn section (featuring James Thompson, Massimo Greco, Beppe Caruso, and Eric Daniel) in performing Zucchero classics and rarities, playing material from nearly all of Zucchero's albums. On top of that the LIVE IN ITALY cd contains three new studio tracks (as well as the never before released live song "Hi-De-Ho") including the single "Una Carezza" - recorded as a tribute to Zucchero's late mother. |
