Top 2000 (the Netherlands, Top 2002 (Belgium) December 31, 2002
Every year Dutch radiostation Radio 2 and Belgium radio station Donna publish their Top 2000 (the Netherlands) and, this year, the top 2002 (Belgium) with the best songs ever made voted on by the radio audience. In this years top 2000 there are three Zucchero songs:
1690 Cosi Celeste (not in the list last year)
1163 Senza una donna (last year: 788)
420 Il Volo (last year: 421)
In the Belgium list the following Zucchero songs are listed:

Zucchero in the charts December 23, 2002
Shake is back in the Italian charts, last week the 2001 album re-entered the FIMI charts at number 48, this week it´s up to number 21. Scintille entered the Musicaitaliana webcharts on the first place. To vote for Zucchero visit www.musicaitaliana.com.
New ´tour´ date: Lucca, January 11 December 17, 2002
Zucchero, with among others Giorgia, will take part in a show in Lucca to raise money for a good cause (god knows what, but it´s good :-D). This probably means there isn´t gonna be an American tour till late January (then again if there was going to be one early january the tickets would be on sale now).
Irene Fornaciari in ´I dieci comandamenti’ December 17, 2002
La Repubblica reports that Irene Fornaciari, one of Zucchero´s daughters, will play a part in the Italian musical ´I dieci comandamenti’ based on a 1956 movie. Irene already appeared on her father´s "Bluesugar" album (doing vocals on "Karma stai kalma") and co-wrote lyrics for the Italian version of Spirit. The musical is scheduled for spring 2003.
Zucchero special on radio December 11, 2002

Italian music awards: Zucchero wins special award December 4, 2002
During the Italian Music Awards ceremony last monday Zucchero sang Scintille, the latest single of Shake (see below), and received a special award for "Best Italian Artist in the World", however he lost all the awards he was nominated for (best album, best tour, best Italian male artist and best videoclip. No Spirit cd December 4, 2002
News has come in that there will be no cd version of Zucchero´s Italian Spirit soundtrack. The only way to listen to the soundtrack, that features Italian translations of Bryan Adam´s original version, is to go to Italian cinema´s or wait for the Italian video or dvd to be released.
American tour in January? November 29, 2002
Good news for all the American fans! In this issue of Sorrisi e Canzoni (see below) Zucchero has said that he will tour the US this January. No dates are in yet so god knows if he really IS but it´s a start! Thanks to Federico Armeni for the news!

In this weeks "Sorrisi e Canzoni" there is an article about Spirit featuring photo´s and an interview with Zucchero and his daughter. For the non-Italian fans: it´s supposed to be online on Zucchero´s official website in a few days!
Scintille new single November 27, 2002
According to Zucchero´s official website Zucchero´s new single, ´Scintille´, was released in the (Italian) stores last friday. Scintille, ´Sparks`, is the fourth single taken from Shake actually available in the stores ("Sento le Campane" and "Rossa mela della sera" were promo´s for radio stations). Right now we don´t know what the other tracks on the single are or if there will be a videoclip. Stay tuned!
Zucchero will play Parma November 17, 2002
Zucchero will give a concert in Parma on friday December 13. Tickets are €25 and you can buy them online on www.charta.it. Zucchero will sing "Un piccolo aiuto" at the end of the show for children in need or something (of course he could also donate money, but that would be silly :-D).
Spirit trailer online November 13, 2002
A trailer of the Italian version of Dreamworks "Spirit" has been put online and features a part of one of the songs Zucchero recorded for the Italian version of the soundtrack. Rockol reports that the titles of the songs are ''Sono qui'', ''Sempre e per sempre'', ''Tu non mi avrai'', ''Suona il corno'' and ''Levati di dosso''. Night of the Proms compilation: no Zucchero November 9, 2002
Not that I expect people to go and buy the thing before checking the tracklist but Zucchero isn´t on the Night of the Proms compilation that will be released on November 11. Zucchero joined the Night of the Proms tour in 1999 and played Hai Scelto Me, Il Volo, Madre Dolcissima, X colpa di chi?, Senza una Donna (with John Miles), Miserere (with Natalia Choquette) and Hey Jude (with the entire cast) together with Luciano Luisi on piano and the Il Novencento orchestra. In reviews of the ´99 edition of the show Zucchero was praised for being the best artist of the evening. A cd of the ´99 edition, featuring Hai Scelto Me, Il Volo and Madre Dolcissima is available on Amazon.de (search for Night of the Proms).
Italian Music Awards 2002 November 9, 2002
Zucchero is nominated for four Italian Music Awards: Best Album (for Shake, other nominated artists are Elisa, Tizianno Ferro, Ligabue and Subsonica), Best Male Artist (other nominated artists are Tiziano Ferro, Ligabue, Mango, Francesco Renga and Daniele Silvestri), Best Videoclip (for Ahum, other nominated artists are Giorgia, Vasco Rossi, Daniele Silvestri and Subsonica) and Best Tour (other nominated artists are Francesco De Gregori, Ron, Pino Daniele, Fiorella Mannoia, Elisa, Ligabue and Subsonica). The awardshow will be on December 2nd and will be broadcasted live on RAI 2. A website for the awards, on www.italianmusicawards.it, is in the make. It´s not clear yet if Zucchero will perform.
