Shake on the road February 12, 2002
Zucchero officially started his Shake 2002 world tour yesterday in a sold out Hallenstadium in Zurich, Switzerland, special guest was Paul Young, singing along on Senza Una Donna (without a woman).
Note: can someone shoot the concento people? Instead of broadcasting the entire concert online, they only showed some backstage interviews, Rossa mela della sera, Baila (sexy thing), Ahum, Overdose (d´amore), Datemi una pompa (called Bomba on the concento website, sigh) and Il Mare. You can watch the songs online on this site.
"Tribute" to Jimmy Hendrix February 11, 2002
A very "original" tribute to Jimmy Hendrix: a remake of the legendary album cover of "Electric Ladyland" in the GQ magazine, Zucchero with loads of naked women...
The third single taken from the Shake album, Dindondio, will be released on friday. The single will also contain a special "bonus track": "Ho visto Nina volare" recorded live during the De Andre tribute. Don´t forget tonight is the opening of the Shake world tour 2002 in Zurich. You can watch the show live on this site starting at 20:30.
the shake tour
Zucchero´s 2002 Shake world tour is about to start. The first "official" concert (not counting the try-out concert "date zero") is on monday in Zurich, Switzerland, after that show Zucchero will move on to Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France in the first part of the tour, more dates will be released somewhere this month, but Zucchero is going to play in some summerfestivals through Europe.
Zucchero´s band is pretty much back to the Spirito DiVino/Best of... tour band: Luciano Luisi plays keyboards, Mario Schiliro plays the guitars, Polo Jones is back on bass, Lisa Hunt is back doing vocals, together with Elaine Jackson, new to the team, James Thompson does sax, harmonica and vocals. The only new guy in the band is Zack Alford on drums. Zack already played in Bruce Springsteens (!!) band, and in David Bowies (!!) band, so he´s damn good!
If you are a member of Zucchero´s official fanclub you´ll have the chance on seeing Zucchero and the band soundcheck and meet Zucchero backstage, you need to bring a couple of things with you though:
- the official fanclub card
- the ticket for the concert
- your passport, or another form of identification
- and last, but not least... a red apple....
As said before: Zucchero will start his tour on monday february 11th in Zurich, Switzerland, and the show is completely sold out! If you still want to see Zucchero playing his first show, don´t worry! Italian web-site Concento will broadcast the entire concert live, starting at 20:30 (Italian time). The site already has some really cool interviews and backstage videos online, so check it out! On march 2 Concento will also broadcast the show Zucchero will do in Verona, so go check it out on this site!
5 days till Shake February 6, 2002
Just 5 days to go before the first official (not including the try-out "date zero") concert of the Shake-tour. The tour starts in Switzerland, in the Hallen Stadium.
Zucchero latin site updated February 3, 2002
One of the oldest Zucchero fansites on the web (at least by far the most active of the oldies :D) had some surgery and looks like new again: loads of lyrics, pictures, some videos (!), tour info, interviews, it´s there! Check it out on this site!
Tour Band January 29, 2002
It´s official! The band for Zucchero´s 2002 Shake tour:
On keyboards, who else?, the brilliant Luciano Luisi.
On guitars, although not present on any Zucchero album, except for the song Va, Pensiero, he deserves his place in Zucchero´s band: Mario Schiliro
On bass, he wasn´t there during the bluesugar tour, but he´s back! Polo Jones
On drums, the new guy: he´s on Shake, so he´s good! Zac Alford
Doing the sax and some backingvocals: you can´t do a Zucchero show without him! James Thompson
Zucchero´s little sister is back where she belongs!!! On stage! With Zucchero! Screaming her longs out! Lisa "sister" Hunt does backing vocals with Elaine Jackson (two people doing backingvocals! heaven has a name... :D)
For dates please check the tour section on this website or on Zucchero´s official site.

The radio show starts at 19:00.
Zucchero to release Ho Visto Nina Volare on single January 22, 2002
Zucchero will release the song he sang on the Fabrizio De André tribute, march 2000, on single. The money made with the song, Ho visto Nina volare, will be given to charity. This will probably mean that Dindondio will only be released as a promo (for radiostations) and not as a single as we reported before.
Shake: sold 1 000 000 times world wide January 22, 2002
According to Italian Canal 5, Zucchero´s latest album "Shake" (released september last year) already sold 1 000 000 copies! This is without any doubt the fastest selling Zucchero album ever. It took Bluesugar almost the double of the time to get to the 1 000 000 copies point. In February Shake will be released in its Spanish version, which probably means that we´re going to the 2 million :))).
New article + old news page January 14, 2002
We´ve put a new article, a great review of Shake, in the articles section today and we put all the ´old´ news in a new section called... old news :).
At the moment we´re busy getting the biggest Zucchero picture library on the web online, but this will probably still take some time.
Shake one of the worst albums of 2001??? January 14, 2002
Italian musicsite Rockol is NOT making much friends under Zucchero fans: in their poll on best album/ singer and worst album/singer Zucchero´s Shake ended up on nr. 6. Nr. 6 of the worst album list that is. Elton John´s Songs of the westcoast was chosen best album of the year, and Vasco Rossi´s Stupdio Hotel worst (but was also named in the top 10 best albums). Zucchero is in good company though with Rossi and artists like the Cranberries.
Rispetto video January 14, 2002
There´s a short video on the Rispetto tour on Zucchero´s official site (tour section, not Shake tour section), it shows a small part (36 seconds) of Zucchero singing "Rispetto" live. More videos will follow!
DVD out at Easter? January 14, 2002

Dindondio new single January 3, 2002
First of all: a happy new year from everybody of the Un po´ di Zucchero website!!!
Dindondio will be the third single taken from the Shake album, Zucchero said this during his new years eve concert in Cagliari. Rumours were going on already for some time that Dindondio would become the new single, although also "Scintille" and "Ali D´Oro" the beatiful duet with the late John Lee Hooker had a chance. No info yet on any videoclips or artwork from the single. As soon as it comes in, we´ll post it here.
