Sun tribute in stores, but where is Zucchero? October 31, 2001
The long awaited Sun tribute CD "Good Rockin' Tonight" is in stores now, featuring artists like Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Mark Knopfler, Paul McCartney and many more. But no Zucchero. Zucchero recorded the track "Who will the next fool be?" for this album, accompanied by musicians like Mark Knopfler and Jools Holland, but the "Who will the next fool be?" on this album is sung by Sheryl Crow. Perhaps they might include him on some European version of the album, but for now: SCREW SUN RECORDS!!!!!!!
Zucchero´s sunglasses October 29, 2001
It´s almost impossible NOT to notice them these days: Zucchero´s new style of sunglasses, the red ones. Now it´s also possible to buy them online, on Zucchero´s official site. It will cost you a lot of money though: for the fans enlisted in Zucchero´s special fanclub the price is 148.000 Lires and for the fans NOT enlisted it´s even more: 173.000 Lires! And don´t forget the shipping: 14.000 for Italian fans and 40 000 for European fans! I think I can survive another summer with my bluesugar leopard glasses :).

Zucchero in the charts October 25, 2001
Here´s the charts update again! After 5 weeks Zucchero is kicked of the nr. 1 position in the Italian album charts. Shake is now on nr. 3 and Laura Pausini´s Best of Album is on nr. 1. No sign of Zucch in the Italian single top 10. In Germany Shake is now, in it´s second week in German charts, on nr. 25 (entering at nr. 33), no sign of Baila in the top 100 single charts. In Holland Zucchero´s not doing that great: after three weeks (first week: 73, second week: 67) Zucchero is going down real fast to nr. 87 with Shake, no sign of Baila here either. In the Swiss album charts Zucchero is now on the nr. 2 position, with Baila on the nr. 9 position of the single charts. In the Austrian album charts, Shake is now on nr. 20 (to last weeks 16). Keep on buying the stuff!
Zucchero in France October 24, 2001

Zucchero will be a guest in this weeks top of the pops on RAI 2. The show will be broadcasted at 14.00 and Zucchero, together with his band, will sing both Baila (sexy thing) and Ahum. You can´t miss this one (unless you live outside of Italy and you can´t get RAI 2 like a certain person here... sob...).
Ahum video October 11, 2001
The videoclip for Zucchero´s new single, the second of his latest album "Shake", "Ahum" is here! You can watch the video online on Zucchero´s official site in the Zucchero TV section, in both the Italian and the English (I´m in trouble) version of the song. In the video Zucchero and Chance, together with some bandmembers, play Ahum in a huge studio with loads of huge photo´s sliding in between them. The video is partly shot in black and white and partly in color. The video is directed by Kevin Godly, who also directed Baila (sexy thing), and is without a doubt one of Zucchero´s best video clips.
This Sunday (October 14) the video will be released in the Rai 1 show Domenica In. Starting October 15 the video will be broadcast on all the big music networks like MTV (Italia).
In the meantime, less than a month after the release of Shake (on September 15, in Italy) it already sold over 350 000 copies! It´s still on the #1 position in Italy and Austria and entered the Belgium and Dutch charts this week. Pretty soon the album will come out in France and South America.
There´s not much news on the upcoming Shake tour except that it will start in February next year and the first show will be in Zurig (February 15) and that the tour will take +/- 8 months. Zucchero will tour Europe, the USA and Japan.
Articles section open October 9, 2001

We´re busy getting more stuff online, so if you have anything (doesn´t matter what period) please mail us!
Zucchero in the charts October 9, 2001
Another chart update! Zucchero´s Ahum is now at nr 2 of the Music Control airplay list (Italy ofcourse), a good result compared to last weeks nr. 5. Shake is still at the nr. 1 position of the album charts and Baila (sexy thing) is still hanging around the top of the single charts at nr. 10 (last week nr. 12). In the meantime Zucchero´s Shake entered the Dutch album top 100 at nr. 73, a pretty good result, achieved thanks to the airplay Baila (sexy thing) got and the huge amount of Shake songs that are being played on the radio (Dondondio, etc.). Meanwhile in Switzerland Shake is still nr 1! Way to go Sugar! In Luxemburg, Zucchero´s Baila is at nr. 26 of the top 50, Shake is a new entry in the Belgium album charts at nr. 46 (Flanders) and nr. 43 (Wallonië). No news yet on the German charts. If you have any info, please mail us!

Tobia October 3, 2001
This is a request Zucchero himself posted in the news section of his official site, just to be sure everybody (the millions of fans visiting our site every day :D) reads it and maybe someone out there can help.
Zucchero lost his dog Tobia (the song Tobia on "Shake" is dedicated to her), a Bovaro Bernese of three years old, in the night between 31-10-2000 and 01-11-2000 near Avenza (Carrara). Since Zucchero hopes Tobia might still be alive he requests anybody with information to e-mail him (on the fanclub address: fanclub@zucchero.it) or you can leave a message on the following telephone number: 02/70001439.
This is a picture of Tobia.
Charts October 3, 2001
Some Charts news: Shake is still on the nr. 1 position in Italy and also in Switzerland! It reached the nr. 23 position in Austria. No news on the charts in Germany or Holland. Ahum has entered the airplay list at the nr. 5 position. Go! Sugar! Go!

Zucchero chats Some intresting questions were asked during todays Blue Win chat with Zucchero September 27, 2001
Todays chat with Zucchero on the Swiss Blue Win site was a big succes, with +/- 60 fans in the room. The chat started at 15.30 and ended about 1 hour and 15 minutes later. Some very intresting questions were asked (although there were also some pretty dull and dumb ones like "What´s your age?" and "Why are you called Zucchero?"). Some news we got from the chat:
- Zucchero´s live album, recorded in Paradiso during the Bluesugar tour in 1999 won´t come out for a while. The album, supposed to be called "live in paradise" was supposed to come out BEFORE Shake, but for now it´s not scheduled to come out.
- In a few months a DVD will be released with Zucchero´s videos, including "Baila (sexy thing)".
- For the next two months, Zucchero will be promoting his new album in Europe (watch those TV shows!).
- Zucchero has expressed the will to record with Macy Gray (and do other stuff too.....)
- Zucchero says that recording with John Lee Hooker was "an unforgettable experience", because Hooker´s voice is like "both God´s and the Devil´s hammer".
- Zucchero finds "Dunne Mosse" his favourite song of his past albums and "Ali d´Oro" the best of his new album "Shake".
As said before a very succesful event, although there was very little time and a LOT of questions. Tomorrow on the Blue Win site there will be a transcript of the event in German, English and Italian.
Zucchero on german TV September 25, 2001
Zucchero will be one of the musical guests on the ARD show "Courage - Der Preis für Menschlichkeit", together with other artists like Jose Carreras. The show will be broadcasted on ARD next tuesday (october 2) and will start at 21.05 (according to this site).
Shake at nr. 1! September 25, 2001
Zucchero´s Shake rules Italy! Out of nowhere he entered the album charts at the nr. 1 position! Baila is still going strong in the Italian and Swiss single charts, while it was kicked out of the Dutch charts after being in it for three weeks, with as the highest position last weeks nr. 90. No news on the german charts yet.

Zucchero to publish book reason we had to wait so long for shake September 19, 2001
Zucchero is going to bring out an autobiography in october. Because he was busy writing it, it took him TWO YEARS to bring out a new cd! :D We´ll give you all the info as soon as we hear it, but we don´t think it´s going to be translated in English.

Shake Showcase review September 10, 2001
Yesterday evening Zucchero presented his new album "Shake" to the press, and the people who couldn´t be there (read anybody on this planet except for 250 lucky bastards :-D) had the chance to follow the showcase on the net. Although the quality of both the video and the audio was very low, and to the people watching it wasn´t even sure wether or not we would get live stuff (Yahoo reported earlier that the concert would start at 21:00, later it turned out it started at 22.30, in the time between 19.30, the time the showcase "started" and 22.35 (when we got to see Zucch live in the middle of the first song, with all the cameras at either background singer Chance or the drummer) the music of Zucchero´s new album and video images were showed over and over again).
When the live-event FINALLY started the quality of the video and more important the audio got REALLY bad. Zucchero played for +/- 1 hour, and started of with some of the new songs (the beautiful "Ahum", summerhit nr. 1 "Baila (sexy thing)", a possible third hit (after Baila and the new single to be released at the same time the album will come out "Ahum") "Music in me", "Porca l´oca", "Dindondio" and "Scintille") and ended the show with some classic Zucchero songs (a good version of "Diavolo in me", "Il Volo" in which the vocals are almost impossible to hear and, after a short break, a good version of "Hai Scelto Me" in which Chance proves she can keep up with Lisa Hunt, and we all can be very grateful she´s going to join sugar during his upcoming tour!). After "Hai Scelto Me" the showcast ended like it started: suddenly.
On Zucchero´s official website (under Zucchero TV) and on Yahoo Italia you can still watch Il Volo, but as said before the quality is really low. On My TV (www.mytv.it) you can watch "Ahum" (with actual footage of Zucchero!!! :-D), My TV will keep on updating the Zucchero footage with audio, video, interviews and backstage moments.
One last personal comment: it´s great that Zucchero´s site is providing more video and audio, and broadcasting the showcase is something we´re all very grateful for, but it would be a lot more intresting when the quality of everything is a bit higher.
Anyway: we´ve got a great new album on the way!
"..and I believe in this beautiful love..."
Don´t forget! September 10, 2001
Zucchero is scheduled to be in the "Show der sieger" on german tv network ZDF this wednesday. The show starts at 20.15.
No Santana, No Jeff Beck, but hey! The Hook´s there! September 10, 2001
Although we earlier reported that both Carlos Santana and Jeff Beck would be on Zucchero´s new album, appereantly this news is not correct. Bluesguitarist and John Lee Hooker producer Roy Rogers probably worked on the album as co-producer (or something like that) of "Ali d´oro" a beautiful song featuring the legendary John Lee Hooker. Hooker died earlier this year and this is the last track he ever recorded. And what a track... :-).
Shake clips online September 10, 2001
Starting from today every day a few more songs will come online on Zucchero´s site. You can listen to 30 seconds of the song and read the lyrics. Today the opening track "Sento le campane" and "Rossa mela della sera" were put online, tomorrow the photography in the album, the credits and three songs (Music in me, Ahum and Scintille) will come online.

Zucchero rocks this world September 9, 2001

Zucchero has been in the Music Control top 5 since the release of Baila on Italian radiostations.

Once upon a time.... the Night of the Proms
Since we got some requests from some of the Italian fans for info on the Night of the Proms and Zucchero´s part in it, here´s some info on the night:
The night of the proms is a unique mixture of opera and rock ´n roll. Every year in the months November/December the Night of the Proms circus goes through Belgium, Holland, Germany and since two years also through other European countries. During the show there is one (or in some cases there are two) acts "leading" the night, getting the most time to play and there are some extra artists playing one or two songs. The artist are accomplished by an orchestra and beside the rockmusic there´s also opera (in the last years people like Andrea Bocelli, Natalia Choquette and Alessandro Safina). The concert used to be sponsored by Heineken beer, but since two years the night is sponsored by Nokia, Heineken now sponsors another concert.
Zucchero (together with Status Quo) was the biggest artist on the bill for the 1999 concerts. The other artists playing during this version of the night were singer Emilia ("Big, big, girl"), John Miles ("Music") and opera singer Natalia Choquette, and ofcourse Status Quo. Zucchero played the biggest set of all the artists: he started of with "Hai scelto me", "Il Volo", a very good version of "Madre Dolcissima", "X colpa di chi" and after the break "Senza una donna" with Proms veteran John Miles and "Miserere" with Natalia Choquette. In Holland the concert was both played on the radio (complete) and on TV (not complete: Zucchero songs are "Il Volo", "X colpa di chi", "Senza una donna" and "Miserere"). A CD was also published of the event, including three Zucchero songs: "Hai scelto me", "Il volo" and "Madre Dolcissima".
In the reviews both in the Belgium and in the Dutch press everybody reacted very positive on this version of the night and on Zucchero´s performance. Espacially the Belgium press voted him the best artist of the evening, because even although he´s (according to the Belgium papers, don´t shoot the messenger!) "ugly as the night", but "what a showman!". Even during the 2000 Night of the Proms reviews (with UB40 as leading act, Belgium reviewers talked about Zucchero´s performance.
We hope we made the concept of the Night of the Proms a bit clearer to the Italian fans!
Eric Clapton on Shake? September 6, 2001
According to Dutch music site Music Planet one of the guests on Zucchero´s new studioalbum (this sunday there will be a showcase to present the album to the press) will be guitarlegend Eric Clapton. IF this rumour is true, that would mean that the list of rumoured guests is getting bigger and bigger: bluesguitarist and producer Roy Rogers, ex-Yardbirds guitarist and living legend Jeff Beck, superhero Carlos Santana and appereantly also Eric "god" Clapton. Only 3 days to go...
Shake showcase September 6, 2001
The Shake showcase this sunday, in which Zucchero´s new CD will be presented to the press, will be broadcasted on his official website live!
Baila enters Dutch charts September 6, 2001
Zucchero´s Baila has entered the Dutch top 100 on nr. 99. From nr. 100 to 75 the chart is based on airplay, so this is a very good begin! The single will be released next week.
300 000 copies of Shake ordered in advance September 5, 2001
Even though Shake, Zucchero´s new album, won´t be released until the end of next week, recordstores already ordered 300 000 copies in advance! GO SUGAR!
Zucchero on German TV September 4, 2001
According to the german Polygram site, Zucchero will be in two German tv shows: on 12 september he will be a guest in the Show der Sieger on ZDF starting at 20:15. On october 10 he will be a guest in the ARD show Courage mit Frank Elstner, there are no times availlable for that one yet. Baila will be released (in a 5 track version including a special remix and the english version of Baila) in Germany on september 10.
Ahum.... SHAKE! September 4, 2001
Zucchero is currently in the UK to record the video for a new single coming up: Ahum, taken from his new album Shake, which will be released in less then two weeks. In the meantime the first single of the album Baila (sexy thing) is still riding high in both the Italian and the Swiss charts. The single will be released in Germany (and probably in Holland too) this week. Baila (sexy thing) is this weeks "paradeplaat" on Dutch radiostation Radio 2, meaning it will be broadcasted almost once every two hours, for me this is almost a personal victory, FINALLY some attention to Zucchero in Holland, IN BLUES WE TRUST!
Un Po' In Italian September 3, 2001
We're finally in Italian too. Thank you for your patience.
Shake news September 3, 2001
Zucchero´s official website (www.zucchero.it) will publish daily news on Zucchero´s new album, starting after the release to the press on September 10. After the pressrelease all the Italian (and some international) TV networks and newspapers will publish inside info either that night or the next day. As soon as news gets availlable we´ll post it here ofcourse.
Shake both in Italian and English September 2, 2001
Zucchero´s new album "Shake" will be availlable in both an Italian and an English version. The CD will come out in Italy on september 14, the rest of Europe will follow 5 days later. The rest of the world will have to wait for another day. You can already place an order on Shake in several online CD-stores, the cd will be send to you as soon as it comes out officially.
Baila in the charts September 1, 2001
Zucchero´s Baila is still standing strong in the charts: In the music control airplay charts Baila´s back on the nr. 1 position (with Valeria Rossi on two and Vasco Rossi on three). In the Italian charts Zucchero is still high in the top 5, and he´s also doing some good business in the Swiss charts.
