In 1996 Zucchero released The Best of Zucchero sugar Fornaciari’s Greatest Hits, a compilation of his career by then. The album contained sixteen tracks, of which three newly recorded pieces, but it also missed several of the biggest and best known Zucchero classics. Now, more than ten years, and the million selling albums Bluesugar, Shake, Zucchero & Co., and Fly, later there is All The Best, a new career retrospective. Aside from the hits (from Diamante to Baila (sexy thing), and from Dune mosse to Occhi), All The Best also features several new songs, including the single “Wonderful life” (a Black cover), “Amen”, “Tutti i colori della mia vita”, “You are so beautiful” (the Billy Preston song made famous by Joe Cocker), and “I won’t let you down”.
As is traditional with Zucchero, several editions exist of the album: in Italy a 2 CD collection, with a whopping 35 tracks, will be released, while in the rest of the world a 1 CD version with 18 tracks is available. Aside from the international edition, which will be sold in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Japan, special editions with specific hit songs in these countries, have been released in France, Spain, and The Netherlands. A 15 track U.S. edition will be released by Verve Forecast in January 2008.
Finally, All The Best will be available on DVD; featuring 28 videos to Zucchero’s hits, as well as several extra’s, this DVD is a must for every Zucchero fan. While many videos have never been released yet, the others, with the exception of the Shake videos, have not been available on DVD before.
A special edition of All The Best, combining the Italian 2 CD version with the DVD, will also be available.
